howl vs warcy

well i've recently started using howl in my dkey runs and its really nice. what i was wondering though is are extra points really useful?

if i only have like 5 or 6 points into warcy, will it be worth using in say, hell cows to keep my merc alive, or whatever, or is it pretty useless unless maxed?

If you are using it for stun length it is listed as 1.8-2 seconds depending on the level. Concievably that would keep your merc alive, though you won't be dealing any damage with it and you'll be casting it often enough that you won't be attacking much. I usually dump my extra points into Increased Speed, Iron Skin or another on the Masteries. Give it a whirl, if you've already maxed you skills and this is just extra, you've got room to play around then.

I personally wouldn't dump points into howl thiugh. It simply makes it last longer and make the monsters run further.

it has a HUGE range when its maxed

ive seen a howl/berserk barb strictly used for running diablo

i believe monsters run away if clvl + howl skill level > or = monster level

yeah, howl makes the chaos sanctuary a piece of cake. have howl on one click and zerk on the other. Howl the melees and ghosts away and kill the IMers and it is really a piece of cake. Also works well for not having to deal with stigians.

I have it at lvl 6, 1 point + bonuses, and it works great for me. In chaos the only monsters I kill are the ones around the seals.
