View Full Version : Fastest passive run/walk possible?

So what character could get the highest possible run/walk speed? (Excluding teleport, and any active skills) So burst of speed, vigor, etc are fine, but Feral Rage, Frenzy, etc, are not.

Thanks.

I tried doing that, but my computer is going haywire or something. It refuses to load the page. :undecided:

There are a couple of earlier threads about FRW:

In this thread: http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=401730 there is discussion about making superfast characters, and there is also some discussion in this thread: http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=415725

For this question, there are only 3 possibilities: barbarian, assassin, and paladin. All characters have the same base speed and only these 3 have qualifying skills to speed them up. Here (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=303393) you can see some of my earlier calculations. These are before the second half of the 1.10 runewords, so harmony doesn't exist yet. I'll let you figure out what would be fastest now.

hmm, if u want a fastest running char that is not charging or using vigor... try using an assasin. my assassin in 1.09 ran so fast like a sorc teleporting lol.

I do wonder where the no vigor idea came from though.

A wolf barb could use frenzy with a vigor bow equipped, right?

Alright. Thanks for all the help, and pointing me to the old thread. :)

My second question: What is the threshold where fr/w starts to cause desync? Don't nessicarily want a specific value, but any experiances and/or general ideas?

Once again, thanks for all your help.

as for your 2nd question... i heard of barbs that use this kinds of very fr/w to desynch themselves off their opponents screen.

i think they are probably frenzy barbs who has a inventory filled up with fr/w charms.

frenzy with a bow?

In wereform, it ought to do. Never did it myself, but I heard lots of people recommend a burriza for werewolves. The bow will be made melee for some reason... Just an idea :)

A wolf barb could use frenzy with a vigor bow equipped, right? You need two weapons to frenzy and wolves can't frenzy.

When dimishing returns from items (frw) start to show in? I would like to know more about frw, like how much better 1% (skill) frw is better than 1% (item) frw.

Would this be correct?:

Assasin precast BoS:
3 cirklet
3 amu
2 armour
12 claws
2 rings
1 belt
2 boots
9 skillers
3 torch
1 anni
20 hard points
= lvl 58 BoS (816 seconds ...)

Assassin run gear:
30 cirklet (rare circlet)
30 amu (cats)
45 armour (eni, trang is too heavy)
40 boots
20 belt (mavinas)
40x3 sc's
= 285 frw
harmony = lvl 10 vigor

59% bos + 36% vigor = 95 skill_frw

EffectiveRunSpeed = 6 + 4 * (95 / 100 + [285 * 150 / (285 + 150)] / 100 +0 / 100)

= 13.73 yards/s
= 14.05 yards/s (5frw pre 1.10 sc's instead of 3frw one's)

... that would be fast enught for starters. Tele, charger and frenzy Barb still wins I guess but in town this one's the speedy

The calculations are correct yes, though:

= lvl 58 BoS (816 seconds ...)
...
59% bos + 36% vigor = 95 skill_frw

A level 58 BoS should last for 806 seconds, and increase run/walk speed by 69%

The run speed in this example would be 14.12

Thought I looked right in the german skill calculator. Guess I must have mixed up the numbers wile writing them over to the post .

Thanks for correcting

In the links mentioned you had to beat 19.xx yards/sec. Imagine these guys at Olympic Games.

A wolf barb could use frenzy with a vigor bow equipped, right?

This guy made me think of this:
get 2 weapons out start a frenzy, then change wolf, build up feral rage then switch to harmony bow so u get some insane frw
1n 1.09 5% frw scs were the norm so 40x5 = 200
aldurs/ik boots (and more) = 40
enigma = 45
valk wing = 20
if u dont want to use harmony and if barb use 2 of the wind rune words (WILL work in assassain weapons) for 20% each or Crainte Vomir (2 handed except for barbs) for 20% each
no frw shield so use none cos they slow u down slightly
no frw gloves
no frw rings
Cats eye = 30
mav belt = 20
which equals 395% frw (using DUAL wind's) no frw from vigor/bos/frenzy/feral in 1.09 i had an assa with 300% or so frw + bos and raced a sorc with around 20 fcr to the cold plains from act1 following the trail, i won by a fair amount

if i got somethin wrong please feel free to correct me or if something isnt as high as it could be
