Does anyone know how many points you need in SF to cover screen

Alot. I dont remember the width of the screen, but even, say, lvl 12 + skills doesnt cover the whole screen. Most sorcies dont even bother getting this skill anymore, but it is very very powerful against immunes to your cold/fire skills, just let someone else do the couple thousand extra damage to make the kill.

Getting one pt in SF is too dangerous, too close to the boss and mob. I try for at least 12 total to be able to fire off a few of these before the mob can hit me.(orbs are good to slow them down while casting SF) An fcr of 70%+ with shard is pretty essential to do well here. Magefist helps too.

I'd do the old tweaker thing; 'Orb/SF'. One of the friends is working on his, and he can tear through normal and a good portion of nightmare with not-so-great equipment on.

i think your right max SF Orb/CM/Ice bolt this would be best for 8 player Hell CS

I have an orb/static. lvl 17 or 18, and it doesn't get the corners of the screen, but does get the width. Massively speeds up killing of quite a large number of enemies in 8 player games, particularly beneficial against doom knights and in ancient tunnels increases killing speed by about 4x.

edit: it sucks against pit lords btw
