so what are the best items to have charsi imbue? the bonuses are more or less random and don't preserve existing mods right? So if the orb anya gave me in Hell difficulty (which means it must have a fairly high ilevel right?) really *really* sucked it might be a good idea to have charsi imbue it in an effort to get something useable out of it? or will it just improve it while keeping all the crappy mods the orb has now?

You can only imbue a white/grey item :\
So, it wouldn't be possible to imbue the item that Anya gave you.

so just grab the first 3 white orbs I get in an ilevel 85 area like the hell pits and have charsi imbue them?

Item level doesnt affect imbuing i think. Only character level.

Oh god, no. I expect there's some kind of 'cap'.

ya, its not going to be an apparent cap, but its an inherent cap to the system.

look at the desirable mods (i picked a few):
2 all skills : lvl 50
2 to a tree: lvl 40 (can get +3 on magical)
+91-120 mana: lvl 45
+16-20 energy: lvl 31
+20 fcr: lvl 29
(i tried to find a +life mod, but orb isn't listed)
inherent mods:
+skills (max of lvl 30)
+31-40 To Life: lvl 59 or +41-60 To Mana: lvl 56

hm. looks like the lvl doesn't have to be that high for best mods.

also, their listing is outdated. it lists max ed on rares/magical items at 300 for cruel. i have found a 438 ed wep.

and lvls listed isn't required lvl. required lvl is less.

Perfect cruels plus a King's, Master's, whatever mod can get you more than 300%.

Items generated for the gamble stock are -5 through +4 levels of your character's level with a minimum item level of 5.


That's actually explain why in Nightmare from Anya i got very good orbs comparing to crap s*it from Hell level.

Example:

Sparkling Ball
+2 All Sorceress Skills
+20% Faster Cast Rate
+3 to Fire Ball
+31 to Life
+25 to Mana
+25% Resist Fire
+32% Resist Lightning

I got this from Anya in Nightmare. I wish +3 FB could be +3 lightning :)
Just need to make 2 sockets and drop 2 jewels in for -10/10

No - Diadems are just unreliant upon cLVL when imbuing.

In actuality, they have a chance for _any_ mod that normally comes up on circlets, I'm thinkin' ;o

Circlets/Coronets/Diadems are the best things to imbue.
There's no other way to get +skills/FCR/res/life/str/dex and other good mods on one helm, so if it comes out godly you get many hr's for it, if it comes out low its always worth at least something to somebody so give away to a noob friend.

Also, keep in mind that when imbuing the things that matter are where you found the item and your level. So finding a coronet at baals minions or pits and imbuing it when your over lvl 90 almost always yields good results.
