I have two of nat's set, armor and boots, and I was wondering if I should try to pursue the rest of the set. Is it worth the effort in hell? my assassin is lvl 73 just about out of act 1. Also, I have three sockets on my armor, is it possible to throw in, say, shael, um and thul for duress. WOuld that work, or would I not get the rune word since it's a set item?

You can only make runewords in white items, i.e. items with white (or grey) text when you highlight them. Runewords do not work on set/rare/magic/unique items.

The full set is good for a MA 'sin, in particular a Phoenix Striker 'sin. It really depends on how you have spent your points on you clvl 73 'sin.

You can only get runewords in normal socketed items (or superior, cracked etc.) So no, you can't get the runeword, you would of course still get the individual bonuses those 3 runes provide however.

In that case, what would be some good runes to put in there? I was looking for the crushing blow and resistances from Duress. Any suggestions?

Ber your claw if you want CB.

If you use BoS over Fade, Um your armour for resist. Full Nat's set gives you 30% PDR. Each Ber added to your armour gives you 8% PDR. Two Bers with full Nat's gives you 56% PDR, the cap being 50%.

If you use Fade over BoS, each level of Fade gives you 1% PDR. So a slvl 10 Fade gives you 10% PDR, in addition to 30% PDR from full Nat's set. In which case, Ber it to reach 50% PDR, and Um it to reach full resistances.

Nat's set and CB aren't very close friends. Other than your glove slot and the possibility of a Ber'd Weapon (or Strength claw; whatever floats your boat) there aren't really any decent possibilities.

Personally, I'd rather put a Shael in Nat's claw, then use Bartucs for the +skills boost. Bosses drop fast enough with your Phoenix1 Meteor attack anyway.


Wow, Frostburn, you put way too much wealth into your set sockets. I'm usually happy using Thul, Tal, Ral, Ort to boost my resists along with the set and my amulet. That is usually enough - Um works if you want to add in some FHR along the way. 45 DR (30 set, 15 belt) is all you really need.

Sorry, my last post was written early in the morning and my brain was dead. I also tend to make the wrong assumption that many b.netters have easy access to high-end runes.

Of course, what I said about the Ber/Um setup only applies if you have the wealth to burn. It is more economical to go with Ilkori's advice, and use those cheaper runes to cover any resists deficiencies.

For my PStriker, I used two Ums (the product of countless countess runs) to bring my resist to 75 all. If you use BoS over Fade, the full Nat set, together with a 15% PDR belt (SoE or Verdungo's) will get you 45% PDR (as Ilkori said).
