Hi, I was just wondering what kind of teleporting techniques you guys use when you try to find durance lvl 3 cause it takes me a while. Thanks.

I go in a clockwise fashion, holding down the mouse until I find Durance 3.

First - to the left of the wp room exit, when I'm stuck, just going clockwise. Mind that the durance 3 stairs room has its entrance rotated exactly 90 degrees clockwise to the exit of the wp room. The only time this technique doesn't work so good is when the stairs are located somewhere in the middle of the map. The rule still applies, but you have to search for it a while longer.
I go in clockwise fashion too, but I don't hold down the mouse all the time, because my cast rate is not high enough. If you cast rate is not high enough, you'll get hit when you teleport near a monster. Your teleport will be interrupted by the monster's attack, even if you block it. Unless you release the mouse button and click again, you'll stand there still waiting for more attacks, so I usually click while teleporting instead of holding down the button all the time.

After making a billion trips to find Durance lvl 3, I have come to the conclusion that my idiotic mind cannot find any pattern at all. AT ALL.
I usually spot the way down by doing this:
-First, think "where can it be?" - if clockwise, go counterclockwise, or reversed.
-If I teleport half the lap around without finding it, I know it will be right next to the wp, but in the direction I did not chose.
-In some odd occasions, I take my turning point right before the stairs, meaning I will teleport around the entire area.
Needless to say, I don't run Meph anymore. I have found that both Shenk and Eldritch easier to find, and they do give sweet stuff from time to time. :azn:
I prefer monsters that are close to the waypoints, which you know where to find. Exploring areas is funnier when questing.

I have seen absolutely no pattern to where the exit is, it's mostly luck when you go the right direction the first time. I've seen maps where I went around the entire perimeter with no exit because it was right in the middle and the map went in a goofy U-shape thing.
One thing that has helped, however, is not running him with +200 ping. If your connection is too slow, you'll notice that instead of teleporting like this:
*-------*-------*-------*
you'll teleport like this:
* * *
\ / \ /
* *
Not only does it take twice as long, but you will die way faster because end up teleporting straight into baddies immediately after waking them up.
erm.. get faster cast rate of over 60%, less than that you would be slow.. couple that with a ping over 200 you would really HATE teleing especially when you get hit...
i use the clockwise from durance 2 wp... works pretty well for me....
