I'm conducting research for a class, and I'm hoping you might be able to answer a few brief questions so that we can broaden our statistical scope. Below are the questions...this survey is completely anonymous (other than the fact that we'll know your screen name)...but for research purposes, we do not need your name or background. I'm simply using the honor system, hoping that you have actually practiced at some point (Obviously, this research is informal, at best). But, any help is appreciated.

1. What are different ways in which an attorney could manipulate participants in proceedings? Have you ever employed these tactics in your practice?

2. What signals (speech, body language, etc.) indicate to you that a participant might be easily intimidated? How do you use these signals to shape/improve your case?

3. When do you believe lawyers’ attempts to offend, confuse, or manipulate individuals are used most effectively (during jury selection, questions, examination, etc.)?

4. What are the positive and negative results of the use of intimidation by lawyers during a court case?

5. Do you think that attempts to offend, confuse, or manipulate individuals during a court case can be considered intimidation? Why or why not?

6. In what types of cases would intimidation tactics be more useful?

7. Please feel free to add additional comments.
