I was using the google homepage thing but I found http://www.googlestartpage.com/ and have been using it. I like how I can look up prices on ebay on the same page. Not quite as cool as diabloii.net though :P

I believe you need a gmail account for that.

I have the weather for three places, Calvin and Hobbes, This Day in History, a Shakespearean Insulter, Reuter's Oddly Enough, and ESPN.

My homepage is www.news.google.com but i personalized it by getting rid of pointless sections like Entertainment and Sports and made the other sections have their maximum of nine articles.

yahoo is so 2005.

It was also 2004, 2003, 2002... I like their sports section more than anyone else's I've seen. I'ts very manageable and it's easy to find what you need to find for each of the important sports. ESPN is nice and all, but they have so much volume the page loads slowly and it's more difficult to find what I'm looking for.

My homepage is just my ISP, so I can see my messages and download usage.

My homepage is yahoo. Why? Because it's a search engiene with stuff to look at on the home page. Why not use my personalized google page? Because I don't want anyone opening FF on this computer and seeing what's in my inbox. What do I use my Gmail account for? Almost nothing, I just don't want people reading my stuff.

if you want to avoid that and are interested enough in using the google homepage, you can simply make another firefox profile. you can even set a password to it I think, and it will basically open up for you a different firefox--bookmarks, history, cookies, saved log ons, homepage, all yours and only accessible when you access your profile with a password.

I dont recal how to do that though, I know i had to do it once to get rid of some problem, i just created a brand new profile and set it as default with no pw.

edit: and you can actually take out the Gmail preview window from the google homepage, every single element is customizable, so you can just not put sections that show private information. Just have weather, time, news, sports, comics, etc.

I'd rather not state my homepage. But I will say that it's not a very functional one (and it's not pr0n). I don't need functional, because that's my toolbars...:

(That's the Black Japan theme in case you're wondering. The second bookmarks toolbar is mostly functional and no longer available...)

To force it to bring up the profile chooser, go to properties for your shortcut, and at the end of the "Target", and outside the quotes, add -p

ah ok, thanks.

your toolbars are scary. do you use that as your start>all programs menu or what O_O.

I recently downloaded the google sidebar and put my quicklaunch icons there, a calendar with a clock, a system monitor, a note pad, and some purdy pictures of cars that cycle every 6 seconds. So that eliminated my start bar at the bottom.

google is slowly taking over everything :fortuneteller:

At least until wal-mart releases their spyware-free toolbar...which should be sometime next month...
