So E/S light sorcs kinda suck in classic

I have made my first e/s light sorc and so far i am not impressed at all. I am only low 60's and dont have a +2 +3 es staff yet but still I die more often than not even with close to 2k mana. And chain lightning does **** for damage. Anyone else try this build in classic?

I have never tried a energy shield sorceress myself, although I am currently working on a pure lightning sorceress. I always figured an E/S just takes away from your damage and putting points into vitality is better especialy because of open wounds.

It's a good idea to have more life because OW and Poison (Ok not that anyone uses it except if its an extra attribute on a lance or something) effect your health directly.

I made the lightning sorceress mostly because it's different/refreshing and I was also hopeing it would own cows as good as a Light Javazon but that has yet to be seen :/

Light sorcs are the fastest killing pvm sorcs, faster than blizz, orb, fball, etc. Just more fragile

Yeah, you've spent too many points into es. Use it on lighting snergies.

Es builds generally work better for orbers and such, since less points are needed.

Light sorcs tend to be weak in classic. Level 6x is never really good, but don't bother going more. I've leveled all types of sorcs to 80+ and light/es doesn't work too well.

Also, cold armors are a waste of skill points.

A good ES sorc is extremely item dependant and the list of possible Classic items is nowhere near good enough to fullfil the needs for her. Poor level boosts and lack of serious PDR and MDR through both items and socketed runes seriously limits the build in Classic.

lit sorc's kick @$$ but it takes alot of skill of aiming and the fcr bp's for lit sorc's are i think 60/80/100/120 so 120 can help alot and i dont condone hax but aa lit sorc's on .10 have been some of the best svs's.

frozen armor is a complete waste of skill points.

I've never understood how someone can make a sorc without Energy shield. My last sorc had 70fcr, a 1.8k blizz, with strong enough telek/warmth to keep 45% energy shield from depleting my mana. I had some decent-level rares, but nothing godly by any means.

A sorc without energy shield is just too fragile for me, I don't see how it can be enjoyable; I like to be in the action frost nova/static + blizz style.

But, obviously, a sorc with all points invested in synergies has a much stronger blizz. However, even with my sorc who had points invested into ES/telek/warmth/static, I could kill vizier in 1 cast in a 4player game. And a decent lvl static will clear the venom lord seal faster than a high blizz if you have a pally to tank (and who remembers the last time they cs run w/out a pally?). Lord De Sies seal it's easy enough to g.spike/static and kill the whole minion pack with a few blizz cast, so my rant is getting off topic. I'm done!

Light ES is killer in LoD because Light skiller charms will add to both ES AND your lightning spells. Lighting already lacks killing power in Classic, then giving away 20 points in synergies to increase TK make it a bad combination. Orb is the best option for a ES sorc in Classic.
