Hey,

My java uses Razortail atm for it's dex, damage and pierce. Shall I swith to Thundergods? If so, how many points in pierce do I have to invest? My pierce is 73 (iirc) with one point spent there, with razor I have 106.

Thanks for opinions.

for 1 target tgod is a bit better, for groups razor is much better - not really even a choice.

So generally Razor you say, as javazons are known for being good at murdering masses

Tgod's for wsk/baalruns, Razortail for cows/pits/whatever.

Razortail for Bowazons and Thundergod's Vigor for Javazons.

i find using lightning strike works wonders in cow runs so i prefer to use a thundergods.

They're both somewhat situational.

Skills bonuses aside, TGod's is a godly PvM belt (at least in Hardcore it is) if only for its huge stat bonus, increased maximum lightning resist, and lightning absorb. For general PvM TGod's wins, but it excels even more when you're dealing with Gloams / Burning Souls.

Razortail really only wins when lightning is not a threat and you're dealing with rather large packs of monsters (i.e. the cow level).

My vote goes for TGod's.

If you are not using a +skill armor and shield razortail would be neccessary, if you are using a +skill armor and shield then you probably have enough pierce to get by without razortail and thus tgods would be better.

Exactly, javas tend to use more +skill items (think Titans) than other zon classes. If they are using LF, they don't really need many points into penetrate either. My last java had 8 hard points into pierce. That, +7 gave her 80% chance which is good enough for me. The damage from the Razor is nice, but it isn't really important to the build. Fifteen dex is great, but stats are stats, 20 strength is better. Tgods when you can use it. Razortail until then.

On a LF zon, pierce is the single most important thing to have. You don't need life, resists, +skills, etc. All you need is pierce, mana leech, and IAS. Mana leech can be somewhat offset by potions, and IAS is very useful, but not utterly required.

Who plays a javazon to kill single characters anyway? Besides, 19 times out of 20 you're going to be attacking groups, not single monsters, no matter what build you have. Although a fully-synergized CS is utterly amazing at killing bosses, T-God's doesn't really help it out all that much. It will be easier to synergize that CS by freeing up points from pierce with Razortail, too.

Pierce, pierce, pierce = Razortail.

Oh, and Infinity > Razortail (not like they're exactly an either/or choice, though).

T-God's = useful only for lightning absorb.

Well, I have couple of +skills on my java (around 16 atm), I spent only 1pt into pierce and my chance to pierce is 76 or so (can't check now).
I made a little test with switching razor to Tgods in wsk and I must say that the difference was huge. With 7x pierce and Tgods I had to throw around 2 javelins more to kill a group, it wasn't piercing enough times.
I guess razor is the way to go, having 100+ pierce is really great. Also I'm wearing enigma, so the +20str bonus is just gravy...:wink3:

What do you mean? I'm not moving from town without my infinity merc. I just cant stand those lightning immunes and he speeds the killing sooo much

As everyone else has been saying, Thundergod's Vigor is a better general Javazon belt. Razortail can be useful if you're running the Cow Level, but I've never found the killing speed to increase much by equipping it over other options.
