i have a few questions

1) what lvl must i be to get the ancients quest in nm?

2) if i use the imbue quest on an ethereal item, will i get an ethereal rare?

3) do uniques with indestructable mod (eg; stormshield , coa, butcher's pupil...) ever spawn ethereal. (i know some others always spawn ethereal, and self repair/replenish items can be eth too)

4) if i upgrade a butcher's pupil what lvl req. will it have (i'm guessing 49 that of an ordinary smal crescent, but can anyone confirm this)

1. lvl 40
2. I'm not totally sure on that, I doubt though.
3. The only unique I think can spawn ethereal is a Ethereal Edge, which is always ethereal and Indestructable. This is mainly because it would result in high defense (imagine a 500 defense stormshield or a 520 defense coa)
4. I think it will have the stats of the normal small crescent, aka lvl 49 as you said.

1/ Lvl 40

2/ Yes. This is how some ppl get ethereal phaseblades - by upgrading imbued rare's, or rare's they've found. It won't retain any +skills mods, or ED from the original item, but it Will retain its Ethereal property.

3/ With the exceptions of ethereal edge (Like previous poster mentioned), and the Shadowkiller, uniques which have innate Indestructability will not spawn ethereal. Neither do Set items.

4/ IIRC, its the lvl of the base item +5.

4) Highest level req of the new item (unique or rare affixes, new base item, any runes/jewels) + 7

normal -> exceptional: +5
exceptional -> elite: +7
double upped: +12
