Alright ... I made my Poison Nova Necro ... also know as the NovaMancer :)

I'll post my skills and setup. After that I have a few questions regarding skills.

1 Lower resist (meaning you have about 1 in every usefull curse)
1 Revives
1 Mastery
1 Bone Armor
20 Pnova/Pdagger/Pexplosion

I now have the following gear on, I also decided, since I will end up in CS to level to go for max fire res and all vita.

Helmet: Wormskull +1 / 10 mana / 25pr (blue)
Armor: +13str / 10fhr / 35mana / 22fr / 18pr (blue)
Belt: 20str / 50life / 7fr / 20pr
Boots: Hotspurs 15life / 45fr / +15max fr
Gloves: 27fr / 27lr / 25MF :)
Weapon: +2 / 20fcr / 32fr / 29mana / +1 Bonespear
Shield: Ward 45 res all / 10str (blue)
Amulet: +2 / 13dex / 58mana / 16fr
Ring: 22life / 34mana / 23lr
Ring: 9str / 25lr / Half Freeze Duration

I look nice and blue btw :)

My resists are as follows: 90fr / -6cr / 69lr / 57pr
The cold might need some upgrading ... but cold damage is minimal in CS.

With the above gear I have ~1k life / 335 mana.
Good thing I can buy manapotions nowadays :)

Thanks to the +5 skills I have 6 revives, 2593-2765 Pnova dmg and 14-16k Pexplosion dmg. When I switch to my +2 necro dagger my Pdagger damage is 8200-8679 :)

I can solo Hell CS. Slowly but Surely. I timed it at about 15-20minutes. Not bad for a level 67 Necro (I'm lvl 71 now btw)

I now don't know where to put my skillpoints at. I will probably level this char till a minimum of 80. So I got another 9 points I can distribute. I just have NO idea where to put them.

With the +5 skills the Revives are tough enough, and 6 is quit enough IMO.
When I took the 6 Venom Lords not one died at Diablos Hands.

Any suggestions ... ideas ... ?

I think that for duel you need max cr/light res/fire res possible (switch shields with pgems?) and as much +skills as you can (silk?2sojs?sigon shield)

Gheh ... This is not a dueler ... altho ... I did get them down to 1hp.
Might put them in Bone Spear, or Bone Spirit.

And like I said, since I will end up in CS anyway .. I went for the max fire res / all vita.

I have 4 skillpoints remaining and another 8 on the way (minimal).
I can almost have a maxed bonespear or spirit, would that be worth it ?

Or should I go for the defense and dump them in Bone Armor ?

Or more revives and mastery ?

I would go with either more Revives/Mastery or dump it in one of the curses (Lower Resist most likely). Bone Spear/Spirit won't do peanuts without synergies.
If you're gonna do CS in parties, then Corpse Explosion is a good addition.

Put 1 into Fire Golem. It always serves as a nice distraction for a while.

Use it for the deadly blow when your poison nova has brought the opponent at 1 life.

Yes, that, too. If you go to my Commandomancer guide that's stickied at the top and read some of the posts there, you'll see some talk about using the Fire Golem in PvP.

Just read it ... 1 point in firegolem is a sure thing :)

One more question, didn't really get an answer to that ... does lower resist break imunities ?

I have 1 in LR, +5 skills, its at -49% ... if I really need -60% to make the poison imunes ... erm ... not poison imune anymore ... the answer is simple. More LR ;)

It breaks to some extent. LR like conviction, works at 20% of effectiveness when breaking immunities. So, -60 works like -12. keep in mind that a 110 resist immune will still have 98 after that. Its best utility is to lower resist(duh) of non-immunes for you or other elemental players.

Just thought of someting else: if you're trying to buy some time to run away from monsters, or if you need to take on large group one portion at a time, Bone Wall and Bone Prison can come in handy. Both skills can also be used if your meat shield dies and you have to retreat.

To bad it doesn't break imunities ;)
Would make my life alot easier.

But I invested in Fire golem, bone wall/boneprison.
And pumping the rest in Mastery. Tougher revives is never a bad thing :)

I told my friend to use a Bonesnap to make one of those Iron/Steel Golems, and he goes off and uses a PERFECT DAMAGE BSNAP! What a waste!!! :sad2:

LOL :)

Are iron golems still viable then ?
How about the Golemancer ?
Blood Golem and IM or Iron Golem and Amp ?

I know my Iron Golem is still viable. Especially combined with amp.
Take a walk with Shang some time.

I usually just buy a cheap dagger for it though, or something on the floor.
All the effects are transferred to the golem though, so if you find cleg gloves and already have 5 pair in storage, make those gloves into a golem and it will have knockback and slow. :)

If anyone needs to know about how LR acts on resists of immunes, check under my pnova summoner guide, it in the builds sticky. I discuss how it works about 3 posts down in the thread. The only monster that u can break the immunity of in a river to cs run are the maggot young. Once you kill them, then u can easily use CE to blow up the maggots and maw fiends.

So cleverly breaking the immunity of a very few monsters can allow u to wipe out the rest of the immunes.

I agree with the others that a good golem, maybe a point in mastery and summon resist and an extra point in amp or lowresist are decent places to put those accumulating skill points. But CE is tops. It largely solves the immunity problem. Bone skills are just too weak with 60 pts already invested in poison.
