Has anyone experimented on making a build that revolves around the "ICE" bow? Share your experiences, thoughts, or any comments on making one that'll work for pvm.

Ice was designed solely for the Frostmaiden. My frostmaiden uses one and it's a great bow.
As everyone already stated, it is a bow solely for a frostmaiden. With that, it is a pretty exceptional bow for that build. :D

Actually it could make a great paladin or sorc pvm build. Eg. resist cold/salvation to synergize holy frost and on top a conviction aura,or points in the cold mastery and infinity merc for sorc.
My frostmaiden uses Ice and overall, she's doing great despite having 11/3 strafe. With Might merc, Ice and Nightwing, she manages to hit 3.6 to 3.7k cold damage and 0.7 to 1.5k physical damage (total = 4.3k to 5.2k). Mana drain isn't a problem since I hotkeyed Strafe and Freezing Arrows and she has 13% mana leech.

A frostmaiden with ice bow, good nightwings and balanced equip + some bowskillers and an infinity merc shreds everything on her path (except cold immunes). It almost matches the killingspeed of a fully decked out hammerdin. I liked to do cs runs with her. You only need another skill for those annoying oblivions but since you have a infi merc lightfury or charged strike works great even at lower levels.
By the way i am currently trying to sell my Ice +3bc Matriarchel bow but it's pretty difficult to get rid of it for a fair price. People doesn't seem to realize speed > damage for a frost maiden and they only complain that the bow does such low damage. So maybe for trading value you want it to make in a gmb if you planning on 1. You will have lower speed then but you will need less manaleech anyways (with my mb i need around 20-30% manaleech)
IMO, never make Ice in GMB. 13fpa is so unbearably slow and you'd need an additional 100IAS to achieve 2fpa for strafe. You'd probably be unable to achieve that kind of frame rate with affordable and effective gears.
Ice is not easy to sell because there aren't that many frostmaidens to begin with (based on my encounters in numerous public games).
Finally, if you alternate between Freezing Arrows and Strafe, you'd probably need less mana leech. Currently, my frostmaiden has 13% mana leech and she's doing fine even in eight players game.

I've wanted to make an Ice Maiden since they released the rune word. I'm finally getting around to it, and I have the same dilema: Mat or GMB?
I've run the numbers with an ias calc, and an Act 1 Rogue (fire arrow) equipped with a Faith Bow (Shadow probably) would allow the GMB option.
If the Faith has 14+ to fanat, the 2 frame strafe bp is 35. Frozen/Guided arrow would fire at 8 fps at 46 ias.
Given the native 20% ias on Ice, a pair of 20% gloves and a 15% jewel somewhere will get 2/8 speed with a GMB. A 15% jewel'd Andariel's Visage will also do the trick.
Using a Scout instead of a Guard means losing the Might aura (partially compensated with Fanat) and Meditation or Conviction aura as well. However, for a CS runner, an IM immune merc is nice. I'm using an Ice Rogue for my hammerer.
Heavy Valk investment will probably be necessary with a 2 archer team.
Anyone try this approach? I haven't even named this Ice zon yet, just planning so far.

to be honest i dont like the idea of relying on a merc to be able to hit ias bp's . the higher physical damage from a gmb really isn't needed for this build and it most definitely is a better idea to use a MB for the bow, this would also give you the option of using an act2 merc with the aura of choice (might and blessed aim being the best for higher damage or higher ar which is something an icemaiden struggles with due to lack of dex) and of course with an act 2 merc you can use an insight helping any possible mana problems you may encouter on an insight to help break some immunities and improve overrall damage. as for gear selection the use of an MB allows a far more varied selection of gear and is better in places where a rogue merc might die such as cow runs. that's just my idea anyway, that and an andys is ugly ugly ugly

From what ive heard recently, IAS is alot more important than physical dmg to a cold zon since your main dmg is all cold anyways. its hard to reach the IAS breakpoint w/o a fana merc if ur using gmb and like he said, id rather not rely on a merc for that. im gonna use MB. i suggest you do too :P

I just wanted to say you have an awesome setup there. Like my dream setup for a Frostmaiden. Most people don't even know what a Frostmaiden is in pub games.
