..Regarding Baal runs..

How do they work, exactly? Do you go in, kill all the minions and leave Baal?

Cause Id like to start doing Baal runs at 25 with my Sorc, but I dont want her to go to NM because of it..

in baal runs, ppl generally just kill his minions down there and leave baal, but some will kill him for the extra exp and drops.
a lot of the baalers (espically if high lvl) who create the games will already have done baal quest already.
otherwise just wait and see if ur quest log activates when ppl start running to the worldstone chamber.
anyhow u need to be in the chamber to get the quest, anywhere else and u wont if that helps.

so if I havnt done baal yet, but we kill his minions and i dont get a Quest popup when people go into the WSK, im safe to go in and get the baal xp without forwarding to NM?

if not, what if I stay in town, or ToD, or do i hvae to leave game before he dies?

You can tell as soon as you join the game. Check your quest log. If it says "cannot complete this quest in this game" you're good to go. If it says "kill baal's minions" the quest is open.

If the quest is open and someone else in the WSK needs the quest, you will get quest credit even if you are sitting in town. (This is why "glitch-rushing" or "grushing" works). So I'd suggest you leave the game if you want to stay in that difficulty.

I recommend playing Single Player, where you can manipulate the players setting and not have to worry about this. Plus, if you are doing multiple runs, you can keep the same map. It's like heaven on earth.

why are you so worried about going to NM? You can always go back. I ran normal Baal for about 15 levels even after going to NM.

I don't think going to nm is the problem. More likely he/she wants to be able to see normal games to join for a while longer...

if someone you party have not done the quest and in the chamber and complete the quest ,you will also complete the quest.

Sure, it is like heaven, but its lonely in there
It is not like battlenet is teh evil  Actually it seems to me that the fact that maps change is an added challenge which is nice.

As far as op's question is concerned just leave baalruns after the minions are killed and look for another games. If possible have a friend fully decked out in mf-gear kill baal for you in a private game so you can have your quest drop and then once you hit 40-45 move to nightmare.
