I believe the curse is Iron Maiden, which returns a percentage of the damage you deal back to you. Gets pretty much everyone who relies on heavy melee damage. My zeal paladin still gets dominated by it on occassion normal rushing someone. :x Even at [curse]level one, you take 3x the damage you deal. :/
:) that explains the instant death. So the only way to sircumvent is to switch to a missile weapon? (or start over with a hammerdin :P)
Oblivion Knights cast the curse in question. For a melee character, if you don't want to switch to a bow, the best tactic is to draw out the minions (whatever the other knights are called), go around them, and kill the Oblivion Knight first. If you get cursed, just walk up to the OK - they cast Decrepify on you when you get in melee range; not nearly as harmful as Iron Maiden.

I suggest not to fight them at all in melee. From time to time it will happen that you get IMed while you are in mid of a zeal/WW/whatever round or 1/10 second before you use a one-shot attack, no matter how cautions you are, which will kill your character on the spot. That will be very annoying at L90+ when it takes some time to regain the lost XP.
My melee characters never enter the CS and when there are OKs in the WSK, they will not attack at all, but outrun them or abort if that's not possible. A barb might be able to defeat about small groups with not much risk, by separating the helpers from the OKs and then attacking the OK with berserk.

I usually bring a friend with ranged attacks to the CS.
As krischan says, it really hurts at 90+.

i've found that casting decrepify makes them use a different curse other than IM...find a decrep wand, or item with charges on it.
it works 99% of the time with my summon necro so my minions don't die. but it could just be my luck too...

Weird, I've never seen something with charges of decrepify.
If you can afford it, the Berserk on passion is a really neat way to deal with Iron Maiden.
A bow on switch works too; Witchwild'd be nifty, and it's not expensive.

The problem is that while you are busy somewhere, an OK might sneak in from off-screen and IM you while you think you are safe and switched to something else than berserk, to leech back mana. The chance for it is rather low, but each death of a L90+ character costs a lot of XP, even if you can recover the corpse.
In addition, for me it probably requires too much skill changing and switching to echoing weapons. I already have difficulties with with pressing the right button to drink a potion in emergency cases, when there is very little time to think, sometimes pressing a skill change button or drinking the wrong potion... mana potions won't help well when being at 1% life and when I'm accidentylly pressing shift, my merc gets it
I prefer to deal with OKs, dolls and the like with my bowazon
so i guess the message is just dont :)
