single player "runs"?

im completely new to this game so im sorry if this questions seems completely obvious :rolleyes:

it seems that to get really good equip you have to run the bosses a lot of times for random drops, but can you get this stuff in singleplayer? because in most singleplayer games once a boss is dead thats it - so is it essential to play multiplayer to get the good equipment?

i quite like the fact that items are quite rare, but i really dont want to have to play multiplayer (having just retired my WoW characters and become totally sick of how much it restricted my life) - so basically, are "runs" possible in single player?

In case of Diablo 2 you are (luckily) wrong. You can kill Baal, Meph and Pindle over and over again.

Each time you start a new game all the monsters will be there again. In fact you have a minor advantage over the Bnet people in that the map stays the same unless you change difficulty level.

Oh yeah, and you can use a neat little program called ATMA to stash your items.
