Explain this to me! light Facet inserted..no difference

oK,so i have a l00% lightning sorc, eschuta,coh,2sojs,arach,9 gc,torch,Kira's (69 all resistence),magefist,treks,anni...

so...i have been doing 43K with..a +3 light circlet(no other bonuses)..when i put Kira's on.. i do 37K..which is sitll fine by me..

now i have, eschuta 20% light, and 18% fire..thats fine too..and i got a 3/5 and 3/3 light facet,so i figure.. put 3/5 facet in eschuta, adding 2-3K damage(right?,first sorc, maybe too much expected of 5%)..but then i put it in.. hmm..no difference..still 37K with Kira's..and 43K with (+3 circlet)..Hows that?

However i noticed, my chain lightning did increase...why hasn't my lightning go up, by at least 1k?.shouldn't 5% increase?..i was gonna get a 5/5 facet,but i figured i see how much increase it will give, coz im also getting griffon's. to go for 50K(ish)..some one explain me,thanks.

I don't know if this is the problem but you do know facets + damage gets added to the sorcs mastery ?

look at the number when you hover over the skill, not the one in character screen.

the ammount it increases is less than one point in lightning mastery. light mastery is 7% increase, facet is 3-5%.

That is, the change in damage isn't enough to put it over that next thousand, and since we're talking such large numbers, the game doesn't bother.

Also, facets (as was mentioned above, I'm just bringing it to layman's terms) don't add x% to the total damage for fire or lightning. Instead, they act the same as lightning/fire mastery - that is, if you had +600% light damage from light mastery, and stick a +3% facet in something, then you now have +603% light damage total.

Lightning Mastery increase is 12% per level. Fire Mastery has 7% increase.
That proves your point even further. On a sidenote (I am building a Light Sorc too atm) this is what makes Ormus not exceedingly useful for Fire and Lightning sorcs right ? The fact that +x% Fire/Light stacks with Masteries...a +2 all armor would appear to be more beneficial to a light sorc (+24% light dmg, plus the slvl increase).
I think that light facets are more useful because they decrease enemy light res.
