This has happened twice 2 me, one time during the middle of a drop trade!!! thank god it was only a 36 hoto.
Anyway it just says 836904893 (some number) "access Violation" and automatically quits diablo after freezing for 6 seconds and minimizing the d2 screen. Anyone else having this problem or know y its doing this?

Theres a hack that allows them to open a torch, when drops you from the game. It's a well known scam, sorry to hear about your loss :(

I get access violations at times when Diablo and Baal die. Only when those 2 die do I ever see it. Also when those 2 die my whole game freezes for about 15 seconds so I never see the drops. Of course this is always in public games so I'm guessing someone is running a pickit program or something. But I have had it happen once in a private game that only I was in.
The access violation is the part that bugs me most because it crashes D2. It's happened on 2 computers now both with clean, fresh installs of D2 and LOD expansion.
Any thoughts?

I had a similar problem while playing with a friend.
We were in a private game doing a Baal runs. Every time Achmel (2nd wave unique) would die his Diablo 2 program would crash.
After doing a bit of googling we found that a potential fix was to replace the d2data.mpq file. We were on the same noetwork so I just gave him my copy of the file and there were no crashes for him after replacing it.
I am not sure if it is the same thing that is happening to you guys but it might be worth a try...

Lately (last few months), my game suddenly freezes on occasion. Sometimes I hear a "doot", sometimes not. Sometimes I can press Esc and the game closes down, sometimes I can press Ctrl Alt Del and use the Task Manager to close it, sometimes I have to press the reset button. 95% of the time it's not an Access Violation. There is no message at all.
It happened to me last day when I was getting a rush from a friend. After entering each new act, my D2 would freeze, and I'd have to re-open it. I got a "Diablo Exception" error though..
