Conversion bug?

Was in a public dueling game some days ago when I saw a bunch of monsters right outside the rouge encampment, they where just standing there not attacking the players that was dueling. In the descripion of the conversion skill it says that it lasts for 16 seconds but these where converted for hours.
They where only good for killing other monsters that came to close them though.

So what could affect them in that way? A combination of conversion and mindblast perhaps? Or is there an other explination?

If you convert and leave the game the monsters will remain converted permanently. It works with mindblast's conversion effect too. They also remain converted if you come back into the game.
