View Full Version : EBOTDZ vs. GREIF
Okay..so I have asked around...a lot..and am always getting different answers. I am a pvp ww barb and i duel weild 95% of the time (duh) and i want to know once and for all which give the better dmg/speed (if one gives both) im currently using a 405% ebotdz and if a good greif is better than that I would really like to be in posession of one, can anyone shed some light on this please?

Let me put it this way.
The crappiest lowest Grief has better average damage than a perfect EBotDZ. For PvP, go with Grief.
Ok, so would my 400+% (forget exact) ebotdz get me a really good greif? or would I need to add to get one.

A really good grief (39/39x) can cost up to 4-6x what a 4xx% EbotdZ costs, due to them being Ladder Only and also the fact that there are way more BotDs than there are Griefs overall.

only ll in pvp is really cut down by blizzard ,so one cant rely on it too much.
@ Hazzar ,since you are ladder you can actually roll your own grief and if you are lucky enough it will roll 34+ ias/whatever dmg - thats all you need
and just fyi perf grief zerk was recently sold for 50 hr on jsp ...crazy

Interesting. The next World Event will probably involve selling HR to merchants I guess...In ladder 1 I think HR=8/8.5 Ists, now it more or less half of that. It is like a Currency losing purchasing power...still, 50 HR is like 200 Ists...
I have found an Ist so far in L3...:shocked:

no dont do that trade for it.
cuz i rolled my own Grief and it was the lowest stats lol 30 ias 347 dmg :cry:. Or make it in a pb and then trade to axe as i think it can be traded even if it is low in pb as pb is fast and i think still reached bps for a smiter or something.

I think cup is just sarcastic. As for runes,there are people that dupe them like there is no tomorrow,especially when something really special appears in trade forums.I play for years and I've found an ohm,a gul an um and 2xpul...

greif vs ebotdz in a Vengeance context would greifs 300-400 damage count for vengeance damage?
its totaly different than a +% such as on Fort

Wont work. Botd's a great veng wep, Deathzerker is tops for this too, if a little slow.
How does Vengeance work?
Vengeance is a skill from the Combat tree that is available when your Paladin reaches level 18. What the skill does is add a mixture of Cold, Fire and Lightning damage to your Paladins attacks. So, the end result is that your Paladin will be doing Physical, Fire, Cold and Lightning damage with every strike of his weapon. If for example, you had a weapon that did 100 points of damage exactly. Level 1 Vengeance adds 70% damage of Cold, Fire and Lightning damage to this, so 70 points of each element is added to every attack that your Paladin makes. That’s pretty much it.
This means, that only certain things that add to your physical damage, will also count towards Vengeance elemental damage. These are;
- Enhanced or min/max damage from socketing in the weapon.
- Min/max damage from socketing in off weapon equipment.
- Min/max damage from items or charms.
- Weapon and item added damage that reads "adds xx damage" such as Butchers pupil, War traveller boots and Blood Fist gloves.
What doesn't count towards Vengeance elemental damage;
- Auras enhanced damage such as Might or Fanatism.
- Weapon added damage that reads "damage + xx" such as Grief rune word and The Redeemer. This has been tested in game to not work.
- Factors such as Deadly Strike, Open Wounds or Crushing Blow.
- Strength. Vengeance works from weapon damage only.
- Off weapon enhanced damage such as socketed jewels or Lion Heart, Fortitude or Duress rune words.
These types of effects work with the physical part of your Vengeance damage, but not the elemental parts.
