View Full Version : Starting fresh from 1.09
The Future now

Its been a long time since I've played, but I recently got back into and am having a blast with my favorite character, the Necromancer! I have a rather odd way of playing my characters, I start them off with just the clothes on their back, but if they find any valuable trade items I'm more than willing to trade with other players, so they have to more or less make their own way.
Two questions:
1. What sort of items can be acquired for a summoning necromancer cheaply?
2. What can I find fairly easily that might be traded in quantity for something more valuable? In 109 I used to collect chipped gems and was able to trade them for some semi decent equipment.
Any other advice would be appreciated as well.

Generous people drop an inordinate amount of stuff in free games if you are really desprete, but if you are making a Fishymancer style summoner than it really doesn't matter ... you can beat the game naked. Just follow his guide and you'll have no problems.
Pgems are definitely the way to go though. You can buy truely solid gear (as in viable end-game gear) using only pgems. For a fresh start as a summoner, as far as bang for your buck goes Trang's Set is worth aiming for. Basically, just focus on getting as much +skills gear as you can ... pair it with a set of frostburns (ppl usually give free) and you'll laugh all the way through Nightmare and early hell ... at this point, just make your way to the Pits in hell and either run it naked to farm sockets for trade, or get some mf and do some runs (angelic set = 100mf +skill, goldwrap 30mf (2pgem max) etc etc).
Oh, and if you happen to be West ladder look me up sometime and I'll see if I have any freebies for ya ...

P.S. Horde jewels, runes from ral up, of course pgems, even gold (200-250k per pgem for the odd gambler) ... sockets are an easy way to make wealth, as is trading random drops for a pgem or two, three of four for a little bit better item ... just accumulate wealth through junk vending. If you are wanting a more specific item list than I'll have to do it after dinner :P
