just a quick question about my pure poisonmancer
i've maxed all the poison skills (or soon will have)
the guides that i've seen so far only recommend 1 point in lower resist
is it worth maxing this curse or should it be treated like cold mastery or conviction & aim for a certain level?

i know that once it gets past a certain level its strength doesnt really increase significantly enough to warrant maxing it out. May i suggest some skellies as distractions or perhaps to slay those poison immune whom you will just despise?

1 point is enough. +skills will boost it further. If you're going untwinked and don't have access to a lot of +skills gear, then put a maximum of ~5 points in there, but no more than that.
twinked = using items muled on other chars
untwinked = uses what finds
You should target lvl10 LR. No more is required, as having it on lvl10 you'll break any breakable poison immunity in the game. The ones that are left (120poison immunes) cannot be broken anyway.

depending on which gear i wear i get +7 to skills, plus the 3-piece trang bonus
hopefully that will increase when i get more gear
i was hoping to avoid skellies 'cos i prefer pure builds rather than hybrids
but if the general consensus is that lower resist isn't worth putting too many points into & most people advocate skellies, then i'll think about it
You'll do fine without skellies, using synergized bone armour instead. I have a build like that, noneed for skellies at all. 1pt clay is obligatory though (followed by 1pt GM and 1pt SR)

Yep. One point lower resist will be fine. Other options for extra points include :
Summons (usually skeletons)
one point clay golem/golem mastery/summon resist (Highly recommended!)
one point Bone Armor, pour the rest into synergies - Bone Prison would be my first choice, to bring it's cost down to one to spam + poison.

i'm no newcomer to the game, having gotten about 30 chars into the high 80s (now a couple in the 90s; gets a bit tedious after that), but sometimes the technical aspects escape me
so i'll leave lower resist at lvl10
was planning to get bone armour & synergise it anyway so that's not a prob
gogo 1pt clay. works great with both my boner & summoner (hmm i kinda miss playing my summoner. i think i'll do that later today)
well it's time to take my poisonmancer into hell so we'll see how he goes

let us now how he works...classic build! 1 question... are you fully twinked... do you have that armor that increases your poison damage etc? I have always been interested in going poison, but i just cant get enough of my summoner. Considering all i play is hc, i have trouble finding the balls to go nothing but poison.

You only need 1 point into LR...with your +skills you get close enough to the point where adding anymore wouldn't be worth it.
