Need to know about minions

Hi all i just have a quick question about summons:

I am currently wearing "silkweave"-boots and i was wondering if "+5 mana after each kill" is worth anything when its my minions doing all the killing.

any + mana/life after kills will NOT work with minions, just like if your wearing mana/life leech. it does not transfer to your minions.

I guess mf does but + to life/mana after kill doesnt. Hmm interesting!
