1st. Does Decriptyfy lower resistance, too, when it amplifies the damage? (question also applies with Amplify Ddamage).
2nd. Which (in your opinions obviously) is better of the two?
I found that i had a pretty good run with LR with my SM's
but i recently got a new "head" that doesnt have LR. so i started using my Decript and i am still kicking @$$. the only problem is that it doesnt last long at all.
idk its driving me nuts---> :jig: (lol any excuse to use a smiley face)

2nd. Which (in your opinions obviously) is better of the two?It depends on the situation. I use Amplify Damage when killing general mobs of monsters. For bosses, especially Act bosses, I switch to Decrepify.
i pretty much use amp exclusively...but thats cause i use thorns auras...so i want the bosses to hit me (it does way more dmg..especially when they're amped)...in hell it takes me about 10-20 sec to kill andy/meph...20-30 secs for diablo (i stay in blob mode...that seems to keep my merc alive...damned lighting...and damned diablo for always targeting my merc)
i do, however, use decrep for Baal...since he just casts....so thorns is pretty useless on him....and he takes around 3 mins for me to take down
so if you use thorns...just amp...except for baal...
otherwise like Evrae said..amp eveyrone cept bosses (decrep them)

Just stick in 1 point in all your curses, and try experimenting with them. This is my conclusion:
Amp - general mob
LR - poison necro, or PI's (LR gives more damage to PI's in CE unless they are also FI)
Decrept - bosses, since it doesn't lower physical resist as much as amp
dim vision - what that saves you from a mass of convict souls
attract (or confuse) - what that saves your skeles from a mass of fanat death lords
life-tap - what that saves your skeles, merc, or fellow pally from trist
terror - great door cleaner when some monsters are blocking it
IM - BM Pking, and good for norm diablo if you are desperate
weaken - this one I don't know
I generally use either amp or LR most of the time (depends on whether I am a summoner or a venomancer), but I don't regret the points in the others since they have served me well in more than 1 occasion.

im just asking, because, i wana knw 4sure if i should break my cycle and use 7 skill pts to get LR ot just stick with decript. i know almosy every mancer out there (mainly garion) would tell me to do it. but i dont want a chance 5 my skells to be any weaker than they should be (i guess its just me being stubborn). but i am trying to get an unbias opinion, but from some one who knows what they are talking about.

LR is not really that necessary with a pure summoner, but an absolute must for a venomancer. That's about as unbias as it gets. 1 thing I want to ask is, how can it make your skeles weaker than they are? Skeles is a 40 point build. Mages as well is 60.

i didn't get it for that reason...i don't even use my mages taht much...(they're jsut a last line of def - that always seem to die first-...don't tell em that....:laugh: )
but really i've never use lower res....but than again...if you're going with full mages and an infinity it may be worth it.."MrNecro" would be the man to fill you in on the effectiveness of that combo...
if not..just stick 1 pt inot amp...and use wands to play around with new skills (like confuse/dim vision/attact/decrep/lower res) and see which one you like best...(maybe all of them will have applications for you...maybe one? who knows)

For most summoner builds you always have left over points you only use 85 skill points.

So why not spend 1 point in each of the curses? If you party play one of them is sure to help out the others in your group. Also IM is good for PvP, LT is good for ubers/PvP, decrep i.e. the best 1 pointer in game, DV good PvP/PvM, LR good for mages/sorc in your group. It really all about what you want, you really only need 4 points in curses to get decrep since most of the time you only use decrep or amp. Maybe it's just me but I like to help those fools on B-net(they need it) and a skellymancer is the best to help anybody in the game. :thumbsup:
o ya the only people who won't need your help are the hackers anyway so just PKPKPKPKPKPKPKPKPKPKPKPK them!!!!!1
