This might be a stupid question, but its the only way to learn....
Whats the difference between ladder and non-ladder (aside from the rank/score etc)
is there a change in scarcity/rare-ity with the items? or what?

There are items and runewords which you can only find//make on Ladder. Thus they are worth a LOAD on Non-Ladder (They only enter Non-Ladder after a Ladder Reset).

Non Ladder has loads of dupes, Ist rune on Ladder for example, is worth way more than Ist on Non Ladder.

Also, many of the Rune Cube formulae are Ladder Only, as well as upgrading exceptional to elite items. (This is why Gul rune sucks on Non Ladder, only 2 Runewords on Non have it, and they can't be Cubed)
