Hi all, I was wanting to create a pure rabies druid for fun. Should i go for maxing oak sage or spirit of wolverine? also how much damage can a decent one in 1.11 do? i currently have a blackblog's sharp (around 500 psn dmg very fast dagger). and was going to get some other stuff (hopefully bramble). I really dont want to do a fury/rabies. i just want to do pure rabies...can i?

Max oak sage instead of wolverine. Your not dealing physical damage anyway, so no use increasing it. You can do a decent amount of damage in 1.11 i think. You might want to try a plague bearer (+5 to rabies) instead of the blackbogs. I havent tried it, but you should be alright.

Remember, no carrion glitch anymore. Have fun.

edit: i would say more, but this auto refresh is really making me mad...sorry

Without a back-up attack like Fury, a pure Rabies druid will find killing in hell very slow. With all the +shapeshifting skills needed for Rabies you'll have a pretty high Fury even with just 1 point in it, I don't see why you wouldn't like that.

As for Oak vs HoW, I would go with Oak, as Werewolf adds Ar and your base physical damage isn't gonna be much when using Rabies.

Blackbog's Sharp isn't an ideal weapon to use, and Plague Bearer is just far to slow IMO at 8fps.

If you're really against the idea of Fury still, then I would suggest using a grizzly+merc to handle any poison immunes.
