high def rare armours

Just got a 2017 def eth dusk shroud off hell baal (197%ed), sadly not self-repairing, before losing it in rollback. (sry no screenie:sad2: )

What's the highest def rare you've ever found?

I found a rare armor from Shenk a few weeks ago with over 1400 defense. I can't remember much about it, except it was an ethereal heavy armor with craptacular stats.

Pindel gave me an eth armor with something like 2200 def once if I remember corectly.

If (that's a big "if") my math is right, you can get up to 2.7k defense armor from a drop, 4k from an upgraded one and 4.8k upgraded and socketed

A perfect bugged "Stone" ethereal Sacred Armor will have 5265 Def (!)

600*(1.5^2)*(1+2.9) = 5265.

That's THREE times the average defense of the best elite unique armors (1755 Def here, around the same Def as Templar's Might, Leviathan or Steel Carapace) :astonished:

I can see godly eth sacred getting 2.7k, 2 puls later and you've got a bit over 3.2k, how can you get 4k on a rare armour though? Am I missing something, what do you mean by upgrade?
