what armor for my merc?

Ok, I'm wondering what armor I should go with for my merc, he's a holy freeze a2 merc, currently using Andy's helm(needed the str.) and an Infinity CV. wondering what armor I should use on him? I'm a lightning sorc, if it makes a difference

well, fort is out of the question, he already dies way too fast to IM, I don't need him doing MORE damage. plus Fort is a little much for a merc. I know, Infinity is more but that is essential for a single tree light sorc. probably gonna go with Duriel's shell for the res or shaft for the DR

you think Shaft would be better to help with the IM? that's about all he dies from anyway, reallyUnfortunately, due to the high damage of your merc's weapon, I don't think the 30% DR from Shaft will stop him from poking himself to death.

The merc will usually die in one hit from IM, and not much can stop that, besides teleporting away to an area where there are no monsters, or going back to town, or getting re-cursed.

Where do you play? because for me, my merc always gets IM'd in the Worldstone lvl3, and I just take his weapon off until I get to the Throne Room whenever I'm running Baal.

normally the only places he dies are in the chaos sanctuary or occasionally when there's an unlucky spawn in the WSK. taking his weap off is a pretty good idea, actually, since pretty much all I need him for is to remove lightning immunities

eth bane is my favourite now, got one not long ago and am now seeking more. CBF is a must imo, more important than any amount of dr, and the integer dr works wonders for tomb vipers.
