Help? Which build?

Hey I was just curious as to what kind of sorc is best for NM or Hell Mephisto Mfing.. I need to no this because I just got my internet back and am trying to get some items on my new acct... If you could point me to a guide of the build it would be helpful to.

IMO Straight up Blizzard sorc is a good way to go for strictly running Mephisto (you can even throw in Andariel if your feeling lucky!)

I went full blizz with my MF sorc and I can kill Mephisto in 3 blizzards easily with just me in the game. Even with full 8 person game I can kill him in a short amount of time. Let me know if you need stats, I can post later if you need. Basically just max synergies and cm for blizz and you cant go wrong! Enough strength for gear base-70 energy rest vitality. GL!


And forgot the given.....1 in cold armor, 1 in static, 1 in tele, and 1 in warmth

why would u put any points into energy?
its such a waste of stat points imo. no build will need points into energy if u can keep up with the gear and mana through pots.

I put a few in energy so I dont have to worry about pots as much. I had points to spare b/c I went no block and am rarely rarely in any danger so life isn't an issue. I just hate having to keep using mana pots when I can just drop some points in Energy and use pots half as often.....Just personal taste in my gal! :grin:

And one last thing......Be sure and use the moat trick when running Mephisto....9/10 times you will never be in any danger. The other 1/10 hope to the gods that the council member bosses aren't immune to cold. There is a good moat trick guide as well as a good blizzard guide somewhere in the sorc guides. Of course a pure blizz sorc can do hell Meph. That's what they are designed to do. It's just that they can't do 90% of the other areas in the game. Personally, I also favour a few points in energy, since I am lazy. It's completely not necessary, but helps a bit against mana burners.

And one more thing:

Be sure and run Andy after you run Meph...for 2 good reasons:
1) She can drop some good stuff (and there are no cold immunes down there which is good since you are pure cold):thumbsup:
2) I'm sure I speak for many others, but if you run just Meph and save exit and make a new game....and so on and so forth you WILL get the temp ban (from making too many games per hour)...If you are addicted to this game as much as I am you know that even 15 minutes away from my precious game will not make me happy! (Especially when I don't have all the time in the world b/c of my ball and chain/GF hating on D2!!!):lipsrsealed:

And also if you have a good friend with a good char that can get you through those hot spots that a pure blizz sorc can't solo (ie: diablo and baal) and let you get MF kill on boss it can be somewhat rewarding! ~just have fun fighting over all the goods that drop!~

it takes me like 10mins to do andy and meph(i do andy first)and 1min to do pindle(dunno why i bother with him).
BTW andy is alot easier than mephy,but be careful in 8player games,u dont have moat with her.

Alright I'll make the pure blizz sorc. I wasn't really a hundred percent sure if she could do hell meph or not ( I thought that zombies were cold immune and all the monster are undead their ) Alright... another question is Tal rasha's good? for hell mfing I havent really played this game in awhile I can't remember.

Ignore them if you are playing Blizz sorc. FB them to death if you are playing meteorb. As for Tal's set, it's only useful to 2 element sorcs (but very useful to them). :tongue:

what would be some good equipment then... somethin that still lets me be able to kill things and have good mf.. I'm not the richest fellow either so keep that in mind.

In hell would that provide good enough resistances? also what would some other good equipment to use? for like boots and gloves (magefists probably).

You don't need resist (except fire) when doing meph. If you are moating him, he should never use lightning or blizz on you.

Yes those items will provide u with nice reists in hell.
here is wat my lvl87 mfer uses:

3 piece tals set(snowclash belt wen not mfing)
Shako
Chancies(frosties wen not mfing)
Nats boots (lost my war travs to str bug:cry:)
2x29 nagels(rare rings wen not mfing)
Lidless w/pdiamond (spirit better option)

This gear works 4 me,i do mephy and andy fast and die rarely ( stupid noobish undead mana burn flayers with fanat aura!!)

You can even throw in Gull Dagger (100mf) and rhyme shield ~shael+eth~ (25mf) on switch for the kill for a little extra mf....

On my MF Blizz sorc I wear this stuff:
Shako (PTopaz)
Skullders (Ptopaz)
Occy
Lidless
Chanceguards
Wartravs (ethereal =/)
Goldwrap
35 mf ammy
2 Nagels (26 + 28)
38 Gheeds (can't forget this!!!)
Various small large and gc mfers

2x ist Ali Babba and Rhyme (on switch)

If you can get it I would substitute the belt armor and ammy for tals set. The MF is about the same and you get so much more in return (skills, resists, mana, etc....)
