I've started playing d2 in 2003, yet i have absolutely no idea about anything druid. I am looking to equip a hoto on my sorc and was wondering, how well does the oak sage survive in hell. I need to know if it is something I can depend on in higher difficult (HCL).

with my oak sage at lvl 15, it doesn't stay around for too long. it all really depends on, where you are really. monsters will attack it, if it gets close and i know that mine tends to get close to enemies, for some reason.

also you should know that it can move right over pit like areas. for example, fighting meph, you know those blood like rivers? the oak can fly right over those.

if you use it, just remember to protect it.

Unless maxed with + skills too, it dies...sometimes alot depending on the situation. However, it is really easy to recast it. With charges though, I'm not sure it's worth it.

If you're having probs keeping it alive at level 15, then I guess it's fair to say a level 4 oak won't last very long. Looks like I'm going with Eschuta's instead of hoto. I think a mace looks kinda awkward in a sorc's hand anyways.
Thanks.
