lidless or spirit monarch

Ive been told that the spirit monarch is supremely superior to the lidless wall that i am currently using but i am encountered with a couple problems.
1)It takes 156 strength to equip the monarch while i only have about 140
2)I dont really have room for 3 strenght large charms

I am a CL/Orb MFer and i am currently equiped with
occy
lidless wall
perf chanies
50 resist upped vipermagi (umed)
goldwrap
shako
silkweaves
soj
perf nagel
+3 cold skill ammy

What peices of gear should i replace that could supply me with enough strength to hold my spirit sheild?

and lastly...how much is a 4 os monarch cost, or would u just reccomend just buying a perfect one. wats the price of a perfect one too?

Level 3-4 times, dump those points in strength, and use Spirit. The mods on Spirit is worth the strength req.

or would u just reccomend just buying a perfect one.Perfect defense items for casters are overrated. You're a sorc; a few extra points in defense isn't going to save you from anything.

Just wondering what level you are? It takes only 3 levels to gain 15 points, and then you only have one point to worry about.
If your say 90, then forget leveling, but if 80-83 then taking 3 levels for gaining a spirit maybe isnt that hard. :scratch:
You could change the silkweaves to wartravellers and the nagel to some rare ring with res+stats, to keep your mf level. or just change the ring if youre willing to sacrifice some mf...
Somebody maybe has better ideas, but im in a hurry.
Oh yeah. Do you have a torch? That and some levels would solve your problems.
Its kinda easy to find a clean monarch, always gets 4 sockets from larzuk... And the runes are cheap. :thumbsup:

Spirit monarchs seem kind of pointless to me...but I may be missing something. They may have more blocking ability, but a Troll Nest or even Grim Shield requires much less strenght, for the same amount of defense. Blocking for a Sorc is pretty much irrelevant anyway, unless you put points into dex to utilize it.

I was under the impression the only 4os non pally sheild was a monarch. If i troll nest alows 4 socs then i will deff use a troll nest.
PS. yes i am level 88 so leveling 3 levels wont be a walk in teh park

The monarch is the lightest non-Pal shield that can have 4 sockets. The other two are the ward and aegis, both of which have an astronomical strength req and aren't even worth mentioning.

Hi,

1. skillers with a str mod
2. 3 cold ammy with lots of strenght - up to 30 is possible I think (this would be the easiest solution, you only need 16 str so the amulet would not be very expensive as you need a medium-str one)
3. sacrifice 30 mf (either nagel or goldwrap) and wear a rare 16-20 str rare ring or a rare belt or thundergod's vigor.

Leveling from 88 to 91 is doable, and even if you level to 89 you will acquire more gear flexibility.

You don't have to get a sorc torch, any torch is still a great charm and will help you out a lot.

Sorc torch is ideal but I use any torch in a pinch.

My smiter did his first uber run with a sin torch.

Monarch would be your best choice for a Spirit.
