Hi there. A while ago, a random diablo two player should me his melee sorc items, and one of them really stood out. All I can really remember it did was equip a level 16 meditation aura onto the user, which was really friggin cool. I want to find it again, but I can't find it in the database on this site, nor the database on planetdiablo.com.

Anyone know what it is?

That's the Insight runeword, made in 4 socket polearms and staves. The formula is Ral+Tir+Tal+Sol. Here are the mods:
Level 10-17 Meditation Aura When Equipped (varies)
+35% Faster Cast Rate
+200-260% Enhanced Damage (varies)
+9 To Minimum Damage
180-250% Bonus to Attack Rating (varies)
Adds 5-30 Fire Damage
+75 Poison Damage Over 5 Seconds
+1-6 To Critical Strike (varies)
+5 To All Attributes
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
23% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Edit: Darn, not fast enough.

Everyone who plays this game knows it is an Insight.
Make sure you put it in a polearm weap.

BTW, that runeword can't be made in non-ladder. The only way to get it is to buy one which became non-ladder during the last ladder reset.

Sorry for bringing up and old thread but what would be a good weapon to put Insight in...? Keep in mind it will be a character who is not able to get an ethereal cryptic axe anytime soon, and it will mostly be limited to nightmare runs for the time-being.

If I were trying to find the base item myself, the runes are common enough that I'd likely just make it in the first 4-socket polearm that I got my hands on. Once you get to Act4 & 5 in Normal difficulty Larzuk will punch 4 holes in a lot of the 'plain' polearms that drop (which is often the way I spend my first socketing quest if playing untwinked).

If you're trading for the base item, I like Partizans for the low requirements and decent damage. Your merc can equip it fairly easily at level27, and the damage is solid enough to get you through nightmare with your merc doing the majority of the killing.

A lot of people use low damage polearms (like cracked versions, although i haven't personally tried this out) so that they (or their mercs) can survive a few hits when iron maiden curse is cast on them.

You should just care about insight aura level anyway.

Thanks. I heard about the low-damage part, but everyone seem to be talking about that it's always best to go with an ethereal cryptic axe for about every polearm runeword there is out there, but maybe I'll just scour around for a decent 4-socket polearm to put it in. Need to do Countess runs for the runes anyhow, I bet some of the monsters there will drop something decent in the time-being. I was kind and gave away the runes I got from Larzuk to a paladin for his Holy Thunder runeword, so I am sort out empty now :)

My favorite mid-level weapon to put Insight in is a bill (ethereal bill would be best). Max sockets on a bill is 4 so no matter where you find it Larzuk will give you 4 sockets, and it has low requirements for a merc. In fact, eth bills will be able to be equipped by a merc by lvl 27, same lvl they are able to use the insight rw in any weapon due to the rune lvl req's.

If you play in europe i can probably give you the runes or an insight polearm for free. My necromancer has quite a few in stash to make iron golems :D

Thanks, but I play on US East. I got my runes and my Insight weapon. I got +17 of meditation aura! I put it in a 4-socket poleaxe, the first 4-socket polearm I found.

Since it the max level it can have on meditation aura, does it have any resell value the day I decide to give my merc an Infinity?

Unfortunately, no :P imo it is pgem material.

If he got a low damage roll, it might have resale value on NL once the ladder resets.

It deals at most 114 damage without the extra modifiers from the fire and poison damage, so I wouldn't say it's superhigh at least.

That won't be enough for a merc to one-hit himself due to Iron Maiden, so the resale value on NL could be pretty good.

Thanks. I will put it away on a mule then :)
