Can a ladder player trade non ladder items? What are the cons of using non ladder items on a ladder player?

A side question; On ladder, the cheapest Enigma costs 7-9 Ists, what can I get it for if i trade with a non ladder char?

a ladder can't trade nl items unless u do a cross realm trade.

try trade values on the enigma, be sure to put up ur realm and ladder/nonladder status.

Cross realm trades require trust, as ladder characters cannot join games with non ladder characters (and vice versa). Same as characters on different realms or hardcore versus softcore.

There are a wider variety of items and runewords available on ladder than non. If you could move stuff between the two, what would be the point?

In ladder to non ladder trades, non ladder always pays more in equivalent items to get ladder items. But again, the most important part of the transaction is trust.

How do i do this cross over?

u will need to create a thread that says something like "NL for L trade" and hope for the best that someone will want ur items.
then once u find a trader, find who will drop first or get a mod to help out.

I think an a bit more detailed explanation might be in order here.

The ladder is essentially a separate part of the battle.net. It is meant to allow people a new start, with a fresh economy.

Existing characters cannot join the ladder, only new characters that are created specifically as ladder characters. From there on, all games created are either ladder or non ladder, and only appropriate characters can create/join them. Thus, ladder characters are completely limited to ladder games and non ladder characters to non ladder games.

As common games cannot be created, direct trade between ladder and non-ladder is IMPOSSIBLE. However, a "favour" exchange from one player to another could be arranged.

To compensate for the economy reset, ladder games enjoy some special treats, most important the ladder-only runewords. These are rather good items made from comparatively low runes and include some really nice items.

Every once in a while, blizzard resets the ladder. This means that all ladder characters are changed into regular multiplayer characters, keeping all their gear, including the ladder only items. Thus, after a long time, non-ladder characters will eventually get the desired items as the former ladder characters bring them as "inheritance".
