man... I love reading this forum... so heated and interesting. Especially that post on shifter complaints. But as I was reading this, I couldn't help but wonder which is better. Were bears or were wolves ? Most people say that fury/rabbies ww is the top dog... and there are some that say a wb mauler is good. But no one ever talks about a fire claw bear ? Is that build THAT bad that no one is making it ? I'm kinda worried cause I just started mine and I traded for some of the items already !!!! ... but that's another story....

So, how about we have a vote of which were form is prefered by the mass ? And please include why you like your wolf/bear better, is it for style, look, effectiveness for pvp or pvm, the challenge of the underdog winning etc...

Personally, I've not played ss druids much... just got hooked into them after being bored with pali/zon/sorc/sin builds... but I think a were bear looks really cool... the idea of shockwave to stun, and smashing things to bits is really cool. I tried a fury wolf... but I really don't like the no def no shield thing... I just find it hard to survive when cornered... but mind you, that was my first druid build so I probably didn't do many things the right way.... But that's my 2 cents. So one vote for were bear fire claw... just from a noob perspective that is...

what's your preferene ?

PVM:

Fury-rabbies wolf= mass killer of the melee category. Sheer brute force.

Maul werebear=safety player, slower killer, but almost deathproof when played properly.

There are some tactical situations in pvm, where bear performs better (stun oblivion knights so they cannot cast im, hell souls etc), and some, where wolves do better (killing speed). Bear performs somewhat better in chaos tristam, because maul hits one single target, unlike fury, not wasting firepower against physical immune minions and shockwave always buys him and his parties some time.

They are a nice team. None of them need expensive gear to be effective throughout hell. This is maybe the greatest virtue of both of them.
