with uber gear you can get 7k nado damage and still maintain 99/99 with max block and SS yet mine is more of a all around build that can go high resists/& even abs gear if needed. (thundergods if needed and abs rings if someone gets to BM, etc. I.E. the new heirling bug)

Main setup with no abs gear on is 5700 nado damage.

Whizzy
magefists or trangs
1 10% FCR ring
1 SOJ
Rare belt
enigma
rare circlet (2/20 with life and mana & resist stats)
+3 ammy with 100 life
(always trying to push that life)

I may loose a little damage but I have stacked resists 130+ deep or more for lightning/cold, etc. (Have shield as options to stack cold or light or use spirit). I have over 1000 mana (this helps a lot), 99/99 with max block SS and with oak up around 5300 life give or take a little depending on small charms. If I need to abs an element I can swith belt and rings since I do not use a spidy but rather a rare 24% FHR/26 STR/59 life belt which looks way to cool  and have left belt and ring slots open as well as shield for any switching needed. Current level is 93 with 30 stat points still to distribute. I used to worry about getting top damage but I think you loose some playability in pub games so after so many builds (vita and max block) I have made an all around trying to pinch the best life into the build while achieving 99/99 with SS. If needed I can get 7000 nado with SS using a +3/+3 helm and hoto. Even more with spirit shield if I wanted to duel only casters like necs but mana goes way down and the extra damage is really not needed.

Well thats my wierd build

No the resists are not needed at all in PVM, in PVP it depends. If you are 1v1 then it is not as important yet if it is a free for all in pubs where 4 or 5 people are hostile the resists and stacking IMO make a huge difference since it allows for mistakes and if CA, oak and wolves all go down, and they will real fast, it allows time to get away, recast, etc. It also helps against those pesky few fire druids using -70 FR since geddon will knock CA out in 1 hit, etc.

The listing above was just my wierd way to do my build for pubby dueling.

I have moved away from the damage is king on nado mindset for a more rounded windy vs all approach. Especially those FB sorcy's who pretty much own windy's.

The Vita route is great for PVM, no block is really needed or for building a PVP for only dueling casters in general. If you plan, although, to duel barbs without max block even the worst leaper will take you down in a heartbeat. Leap is just one of the most godly skills for poor FHR opponents in general.
