Help with Uber-Tristram

Hi all,

I have a lvl 86 Phoenix Striker, and im doing ok in hell, managed to get to act5 without difficulty, but when it comes to ubers (Lilith, Izzy and Duriel)
I AM TOTALLY USELESS, a pally friend of mine helped me to get the organs and now i wanna do a Uber-trist run, but I fear that we wont be able to kill the big 3 ubers. So I'd like to know if there are here some honest people, who wont steal the torch or the anni(if dropped), who are willing to help me do this either tonight or tomorrow during the day. Im on USeast ladder, Eastern Time (-5:00 GMT), account name : berkut47

If you want an Assassin who can take the Ubers, it's gotta be a kicker. Their resists are stacked WAY too deeply for anything elemental to do the trick. Check out some kicker guides and build one if you want to take on the Ubers with an Assassin - there's no hope for your Phoenix Striker.

edit: dont even bother with shadow master/warrior. shell die as soon as u walk into the portal

emm mine didnt die lolx lvl 33 i think..

also maxing cloak of shadows is a waste with more points it lasts longer, so you cast it less often the 20 radius does not travel with you I suggest reading JanusJones' guide. I'm following it pretty much to the letter and I'm owning it has equipment for every price range as well.

For a kicker designed ourely to solo ubers (no beneft from traps etc), xena, it is very worth maxing CoS. The extended duration is a good thing, and the massive -% enemy def, which doers work on bosses is a big help. Frankly there's no better place to put your points. My noly difference is a preference for BoS.

Lifetap > cloak.

You want to proc lifetap asap vs the ubers, and keep it on them as you are killing them, casting cloak will remove tap from them. Mindblast works well for crowd control, convert a few and have the rest attack those, keeping all monsters except what you are at melee with occupied.

I think if you are building a kicksin with a primary focus in pvm, you should keep your cloak as low of a level as possible for the quickest recast time.

that settles it :) however just curious I've noticed that when I use CoS on enemies you get the dark aura thing above them meaning their AI is gone and they get all the ill effects of this curse however this doesn't work on even super uniquues I went to rescue cane in nightmare a few days back and the smith was not affected so why would an uber be affected. also she is designed primarily for pvm and secondly as uber killer those points would be better spent in venom SM or DS alot more dmg better tank (thats usefull) or DS which allows me the best part of being a necro

Cloak will do two things in UT that are valuable. 1) Help keep the minions off of you. 2) Lower the defense of the Ubers. It won't affect the AI (sight radius specifically), but it will still up your defense and lower theirs.

edit - to be completely clear, Lifetap > Cloak.

Wiz is right about the conflicting curses. You NEED Life Tap - CoS makes this a problem.
