I've read a number of MF guides on this site but the one thing I'm still confused about is which is more effective, running area's like the pits, or running bosses like mephisto? My other question is if I was to make an avenger with grief, would the +400 damage from grief be multiplied in the extra damage from vengence, or would it just be added on after the vengence damage had been calculated?

Vengeance takes your total weapon damage, and add's elemental damage based on that. Since grief's +340-400 damage is added directly to the weapon, then it is subsequently affected by vengeance.

Thanks a lot, grief is a pretty sweet weapon for an avenger :D.

Actually, the +dmg on Grief (as well as Redeemer, Stone Crusher and Astreon's) is not factored in when using Vengeance. The mod is just buggy.

+damage doesn't work with vengeance but I don't know why.

I know, that sucks......

That sucks, grief would be an amazing weapon otherwise. Can anyone answer my MF question? Is boss killing most effective or is running areas like the pits most effective?

Is boss killing most effective or is running areas like the pits most effective? There's no real answer. Boss killing results in more consistent item drops, but Pit runs could eventually get you that godly item that's worth a bajillion runes.
