quick merc question

It seems you can no longer hire low level mercs in normal... so...



Is it still better to hire a merc at low levels and get them up slowly or is it better now to just get a high level one later?

You can now hire mercs that are 1-5 levels lower thatn you, so:

1) Levling mercs is a waste of time since 1.11, because you can always hire one 1 lvl lower than your char, and get him up to your lvl then.

2) Mercs lvl up MUCH faster now.

3) Merc stats are still same as in 1.10 though so it's pointless to hire a merc in hell because his stats will be lower when compared to normal diff. The only exeption is act2 mercs because nightmare ones have diffrent auras.

the lvl of the merc is really not an issue, what diffuculty you hire them in is. a merc hired in normal diff will have better stats and higher skills than one hired in nm or hell. basically hiring a merc in norm diff will give you the best merc.
