Need Help with new hammerdin

Well, believe it or not i've made it this far without making a hammerdin. But I'm going to make my first. I've read the guides etc. and I'm looking for a heavy hitting 11K+ damage outfit. What gear should I be looking to get to that level (end gear rather than "along the way" gear).

Also wondering if lifetap on something like dracs works with blessed hammer.

Your hammers will not cast Life Tap on enemies nor will they leech from Life Tap.

Maras
Hoto
Anni/Torch
This should give you pretty powerful hammers.

20/20/5 anni

i found/made the shako, hoz, arach, ammy, rings, spirt and anni so it really wasnt that much of an expensive build. i found a wf and turned it into my 3bocta, and got everything from getting good runes from forges :/

what merc do you use for a pure hammerdin?Both are good. Defiance to give you and your merc some crazy defense or Might to give your merc some crazy damage (along with your Concentration aura).

Defiance works great,holy freeze too. Might is not my option,I hire mercs so I can benefit from their auras,not them from mine :)

The gear is a matter of opinion for a hammerdin, what you must consider though is the 75% Faster cast break point, how you reach this goal is all up to you and your funds.

The merc options for a hammerdin is:
Prayer (life regen is always nice)
Defiance (Leet defence)
Holy freeze (personal favorite)

My gear:
Anni (got no torch for him yet)
Enigma Scarab Husk
HoZ 'Um'
Harlequin Crest 'Cham'
Crafed ammy with +2 paladin skills and 10% fcr and some other mods
Heart of the Oak
Mage fists
SoJ and rare caster ring (10% FCR, 11% res all and a ton of mana)
Thundergods Vigor
Waterwalks (65 hit points, 15 dex and +5% to max fire resistances, how can anyone resist these nice boots).

spirit is pretty good too consider the cheapness of the runes and fcr +2skill

though HoZ is still a solid choice

honestly, i prefer having 125 fcr.

mine has the 125 fcr break point, and even though it's 9k hammer damage and i only got 51% block rate(because of the spirit pally shield), it's very worth it imho.

I also like the 125 FCR, I have 11k dmg without any anni on him (will get one eventually) or Pcombat charms. I also have 75% block with holyshield and a Sacred targe spirit. After all of that I still have 2500 life and 1k mana after bo.

75fcr is enough for pvm. 125 is a must for pvp as well as max block.
