I started a paladin yesterday, and i've been wondering whether or not my build will be effective PvP.

20 Resist fire
20 Holy shock
20 Conviction
20 Foh
1 Holy shield (Well yeah.)

I've got a dragon monarch for him, a hand of justice in a legendary mallet, enigma or coh probably, shako, two soj and mara's, cta for his secondary weapon (and sigons shield, yes, sigons shield. :D) I can't afford pcombs, they're three soj each on east non-ladder, apparently. Are there any ways I can make the build more effective? Different items? I'm not horribly poor, i've got a faith and two ebotd zerkers to trade for additional items.

Suggestions please!

Why max holy shock and conviction at the same time. You'd either use a auradin with holy shock/fire from gears or make pure shocker without conviction. And by the way, holy shield should be maxed, that's what I recommend, defense is really important in hell.

Okay, I would NOT suggest mixing a auradin and FOH'er. But if I was I would max these skills:

Conviction, Holy Bolt (better damage bonus to FOH), FOH, Res Fire, Res Light

That would provide you with decent FOH damage and using auradin gear decent damage from the auras as well.

make a spirit shield and get rid of sigons!! -_-
tal thul ort amn is pretty cheap. you can get all of those in prolly 5 or 6 countess runs!

IMO if you're not rich then you should go for pure builds like pure shocker since each hybrid build can't have full synergies for main attack skills and thus with poor gear the damage will suck.

Sorry but BTW I think you can go with a fanatic zealot with the current gear and the following skills since a legendary mallet will attack so slow with out fanaticism and the damage output will of course, be miserable. So I would do:
Max fanaticism
Max fire resist
Max zeal
Max holy shield
Max sacrifice or defiance

This way you have some fire damage from dragon+hoj and at the same time also some physical damage from fanaticism aura and zeal.
