Scam or No?

As all of you aware, the only way to trade torch is drop method. I want to ask if whenever you are ask to head to Akara in Act 1. You are on one side of the wall while the other player is on the other side of the wall. Is that some kind of scam? Or does it really work? I need to know. Happend to me in Act 5 by stash and Cain where that wall is right there.

Doesn't really sound like a scam to me, i'm not 100 percent though because I don't trade/trade for torches.. Alot of the players on b.net are looking to scam and i've seen it happened too many times to friends. It's classic.. they drop their torch, the other party drops theirs.. then bam disconnected from the game ( with no torch)
