Enhanced Damage jewel in my helm. What's going on?

I put a 40ED 4 dex jewel in my Eth up Vampgaze, but it doesn't give any listed damage to my merc. Any idea on what's going on?

The jewels doesnt affect mercs damage its gems only that has effect upon them. Maybe you could trade it for good prize and then get him proper gaze?
