game resolution

hey all, im sure this has been previously addressed, but which resolution do you play diablo 2 on, 400x640 or 800x600? I just recently tried the 800x600 resolution, and it was much more clear and the special effects are enhanced, however i get a bunch of lag with this resolution. Is there anything i can do to decrease this lag? also, after switching bcak to the lower resolution, the lag persisted and i dont know how to get rid of it. Has this happened to anyone else??!?!?! help!

One thing you might want to try is to switch the video mode from Direct3D to DirectDraw (if it is not already). You can do this using the D2VidTst.exe program found in the D2 installation directory.

internet... i havent really tried single player yet. But i have a cable modem, so i dont think a slow internet service provider is the problem.

If you play on internet in multiplayer game or single with lots of characters/players, somebody who uses many summons, effects like bonewall, prison, meteor you will often experience laags. Sometimes there is too many things for game to calculate so servers just cant handle it in time what at the end causes retard in game, low fps, screen skips or just simply laags. Just get used to it or play single player. :tongue:

Of course you can experience laag becouse your grafical card is too weak, but I dont believe that :smiley: (maybee I could 5 years ago)
