with my current setup, i can run chaos quickly, and without much risk of death. the problem is that it costs me 50k each game.

my gear setup:
wizardspike
shako (ptopaz)
enigma dusk
verdungo's
trang's gloves
spirit akarian targe
war travs
fcr ring
stat ring
the rising sun

i have max block, max resist all, 29% dr, and 1900 life.

i'll probably switch the gloves to chance guards or frostburns, and the fcr ring to nagel or soj, since i'm between fcr breakpoints.

with this setup, and no merc, i can deal with chaos fine most of the time, but de seis's goons have killed me 4 times since level 92 (i'm now almost lvl 94), so i had to start taking a lawbringer wielding merc along.
i have tried letting the pack walk into my hammers, and teleporting onto de seis. both are unsafe without lawbringer.

merc:
act 3 cold merc.
shako
lawbringer
vipermagi (pamethyst)
spirit monarch (34% fcr)

he survives fine up until diablo. diablo kills him 90% of the time, and it gets rather expensive. he dies really fast from lightning hose and firestorm (prety much instant death), and diablo seems to like smacking him in the head too. when he's amp'd, it only takes 2 hits.

so, what should i do to deal with de seis/help my merc survive?

Oh c'mon, what's the big deal, 50k ain't that much at all, considering how much you can sell the stuff dropped at chaos that you don't find useful to keep. So I believe that you can easily get 100k+ every time if you do pay attention to some elite magic items dropped by the chaos mob. Just identify them and many will be worth 35000. And it's really important to have full resists when speaking of chaos runs, make sure you do have them. And a high life would be helpful. Still, don't be acting like a hero and stand in the middle of the mob. You should always be evasive when the mob coming at you gets too huge. Otherwise I don't see how a hammerdin can't get the job done well, their hammers don't even concern iron maiden, which should be the biggest problem of chaos...

i dont use a merc when i chaos but u should switch out of some gear.

dungos - switch to arach for 20fcr

for lord de seis, i usually tele down from the seal, then walk up to his pack slowly and spam hammers letting rest of his minions walk into it, no biggie, then hes a no brainer.

diablo just tele and spam hammers. diablo can kill mercs quite easily so not much u can do really.

Chaos > Trav, because you get good exp + items while can get almost as good gold by just picking up elite armors.

Buy a wand with Life Tap charges, put it on switch, and use it on big-D...
I've not lost a merc to Diablo since I did that:wink3:
