I have a smiter that has gear set up to destroy hell and kill ubers. the like.

I have good things like perf res, decent life, 68% cb, and about 30k def.

And I have a glaring weakness, i only have 57% blocking.

The thing is, is that I have an open socket in my stormlash mace, and I want to know what to put in it. Should I go for something like a 40 ed 9 dex jewel? to help with dmg and blocking. or should i just throw a ber in it and have almost 90% cb? Is 40% better than an extra 20% cb or not?

I would like to fix my block problem but is it feasible to fix with dex charms? or do i need do to something drastic. I can gain probably 15 more stat points but seeing as i am lvl 89 and to lazy to do baal runs till my hands fall off what is the best way to fix my blocking with out refitting gear? My dex as is, is 136.

1 last thing. i have a torch but no anni. should I just try to get an anni for the stat points? and if so what is a good way to get 1?

any advice about drop trades. and any idea what i am going to have to lay on the ground to get 1?

I would never drop trade anni or torch on the realms,but I have done it here,int the trade forum,with other forum members.I bet there are some trustworthy traders on Uswest trade forums. By the way,you can use for the time being any torch to fix your blocking. And when you manage to get a paladin one you can switch.

To your question,I have to ask you what is your shield. My guess it is exile or phoenix, and probably something like zakarum or vortex. A great solution for your problem would be to craft a safety amulet. It always gets an increased chance to block %,If you manage to get 1-2 paladin skills,dexterity and resists you are good to go.
