well i just traded to get a grief pb. before i got it my zeal dmg with a heavens light was about 2.3k. now with the grief, the dmg is listed as 1106-1314. i thought grief+fortitude=gg??? why is my dmg that low?

grief causes the dmg to "lie" on the char screen. it wont show it but ur doing much more dmg.

+damage mod and deadly strike don't appear on the lying character screen but the monsters and players will feel them, don't worry. Grief has both (and the invisible damage to demons too heh). Make this experiment. Buy a white phase blade and equip it. Check your damage and then put grief there. Grief will show only a tiny bit more damage due to the small elemental bonuses (5-30 fire etc). Find a monster with decent life. Zeal it with the white phase and then with grief...

Two options: Pen and paper or google for a diablo damage calculator.

I think that you probably has 6k+ actual damage with that grief, still it's hard to tell, might be higher. My smiter only has 2.8k visible damage with grief but the actual damage is 10k.

With that grief, fortitude and 63% ds from gear (for a total of 83) he probably is dealing average 12k+ per zeal...
