View Full Version : help me finish my javazon
I need to know what skills to put points in... so far i have maxed charged strike, light fury, and light strike... and have 1 point in dodge, evade, avoid, and critical strike. What points should I use next? Should I finish up the synergies for CS? Does critical strike only apply to physical damage?
Also, I am have str/dex for gear and the rest in vit... is that correct or should i be using max block?
gear:
upped eth titans
5/5 facet griffons
5ll bk
spirit monarch
tgods
gores or sandstorms
2 jav, 20 ias, str, resist rare gloves
20/202 raven frost
maras
Please give me advice about rings too... also should i use coh or a 4 sock faceted armor (with life mods or something of that nature)
thanks!

My personal preferences with CS zons:
1. Max block is pretty much a must - or atleast very high block. below 70 is bad. Below 75 is bad unless your D/E/A are all above 50% and your tanks are reliable.
2. 1 point in everything in the passive tree. ONLY 1 point. +gear should be enough to get everything up to decent levels.
3. With the primary 3 skills already maxed, dump the rest of the points into the remaining synergies - powerstrike and lightning bolt. True you will never use them, but the synergy boost is always useful and its not like this build needs points anywhere else as she is very effecting with no outside help.
4. CS is only for physical damage. Physical damage on a CS zon is only for leech and LI's. One point is perfect there.

thanks for your input! i am going to use a spirit monarch so it will be really hard to get max block (lots of dex)... my E/D/A will all be above 50% with gear so i should be fine like you said

If you want max block, you're going to have to ditch the Spirit and get a Stormshield.

for shield i would use this runeword
Phoenix 4 Socket Weapons/Shields Vex + Vex + Lo + Jah
Shields
100% Chance To Cast level 40 Blaze When You Level-up
40% Chance To Cast Level 22 Firestorm On Striking
Level 10-15 Redemption Aura When Equipped (varies)
+350-400 Defense Vs. Missile (varies)
+350-400 Enhanced Damage (varies)
-28% To Enemy Fire Resistance
+50 To Life
+5% To Maximum Lightning Resist
+10% To Maximum Fire Resist
+15-21 Fire Absorb (varies)

na man... phoenix isnt a good zon shield... i need ss or spirit... just need to decide which. The ed on phoenix would be nice if i were a jabazon but im so so that does not matter. Also, i think I am going to use a COH, anyone have any opinions on that?

for armor would fort be better?Fury is mostly lightning damage, so the ED from Fort would be near useless. Go with CoH for a javazon.

my personal preference for a fury zon armor is lionheart. It's like a poor man's CoH.
Suprises me again that someone who has access to CoH doesn't know how critical strike works.
Anyhow: I assume this is for pvm. I'd use natalya's or aldur's boots (40% frw + resists or life), storm (dr/high block - you have the str for it anyway) and probably would swap the bk ring for a soj too.
CoH is a nice armor indeed, though on a javazon the %ed to demons/undead would be wasted, which I personally see as a shame. Something along the lines of a vipermagi (NON-UPPED for crying out loud!) or que-hegans would probably work too, though you'd lose a skillpoint.
It all depends a bit on how you're doing now and what you want to see changed. If you'll be running cows mainly, you won't need any resists. If it's Chaos Sanctuary you'll be visiting often, you may need the extra res from CoH (unless you can get them from charms). If it's all for pvp, then ignore everything I said. ;)

i would sugguest ss because max block along with doge evade ect.. is a great combo. spirit is still better for dueling casters no doubt but it depends on what ur doing. use coh res skills, obviously u can afford it so get it. coh is probably the best armor for lightjavzon

Way to be ignorant. =) I thought CS applied to physical, and i was verifying. This is my first zon so there is no need to be rude about it... and what does being able to afford a CoH have to do with knowing everything about diablo? Sigh... please don't lend me your "advice" if you're going to say things like that. Thanks.
Please, don't take it personal as it wasn't ment like that. I'm only complaining about how easy it is these days to get high runes. It used to be harder in 1.09, where finding a Ber rune actually ment something. Now it's more like: "Hmm... another ber... perhaps I could socket it in my merc's gaze because he only has 49% dr now..."
Not really a topic for this thread anyway.

Phoenix is actually a great shield. If you don't like that though I'd use spirit. Personally I think max block is a grand waste of stat points unless you are PvP. Especially for a zon with high +skills, with dodge, evade etc you shouldn't be getting hit much. With a valk and merc you should be RARELY getting hit anyway.
It should be noted that titans do physical and light dmg so the 300ED on phoenix is not a waste. Also, at the rate you are killing things the redemption aura will keep your mana and life orbs full almost all the time. I've made several LF javazons and I've never missed not having max block for a moment
