Perm by clicking on others?

Really I have never really knew how people perm that way, this guy said "hey does anyone help me perm?" and then he clicked on me I thought we needed something ISO items, but then right when i accepted and saw the trading window, he escaped and exited the game...wth is that?

This supposedly temp perms your items, but I wouldn't count on it. In the past, I've tried out this technique and some of my supposedly permed runes still poofed anyways. :rolleyes:

I don't fully understand the reasoning behind it though. When you exit the game, it saves your character. My understanding is that exiting from a trade window makes the game re-calculate all the gear on your character.

I assume that people think that by opening a trade screen and then closing it quickly that they can somehow bypass something related to the saving of your character when you exit the game. Whether they believe that the re-calculation of the trade window thing would interfere with it or something is unclear (and absurd).

To be honest, the game processes things really quickly. I seriously doubt that any amount of mucking around before clicking "Save and Exit" will help, when you consider that the game has other situations that require conceivably more processing time or calculations than a trade window. For example, casting a frozen orb into a not so tightly pack of 20-30 miscellaneous monsters, and calculating how much damage is done to each, including each small ice bolt as well as the orb itself, when taking into account each creatures current HP and resistances.

If you open a trade window with someone and close it then leave the game immediately, it removes the deletion flags from your items. Deletion flags get reaplied if you dont leave right away.

No one knows if any method of perming actually works.

So whatever method anyone says will work, do so at your own risk.

Also FYI as to why there will be no guide on this site as to how to prem a rune:

Perming is done to runes that are duped.

This site does not support, condone, nor allow duping, we also do not allow the trading of dupes.

Since perming is also a method supportive of dupes, we will not allow it here.
