Does % enhanced damage from armor and helms enhance the + damage given from grief or just the base weapon damage.

The +damage from grief changes the base damage of the weapon to the +watever ur grief is. Then the ed is applied to that.

If you're smiting, I don't think any +%dmg on armor/shields will help. I haven't tested this personally and right now have no plans to make a smiter, so you're on your own, but I'm pretty sure that fort is a huge waste of time on a smiter. With any actual weapon based attack, however, I think it should count.

Fortitude works with smite, as does any source of %ED. What doesn't work is +min damage, +max damage, and +fire/light/cold/poison damage.

But the increase in dmg with edmg is minimal.

Any Off-weapon %ED works with smite.

Every source of ed% off the weapon works with smite. And works well.

Then why don't we see phoenix smiters?

Its completely oposite to what you said.

%ED from weapons, armors, shields DOES NOT WORK with smite! The truth is that elemental dmg also is not applied to smite.

But, with smite work max/min dmg from weapons. Thats why grief is the best smiter weapon and fortitude/pheonix is the best for zealer.

Just to clear out:

Min Smite Damage = (Shield Min Damage + (Damage +x) + (Holy Shield Min Damage)) * (1 + (Strength + (+x% Enhanced Damage) / 100)))
Max Smite Damage = (Shield Max Damage + (Damage +x) + (Holy Shield Max Damage)) * (1 + (Strength + (+x% Enhanced Damage) / 100)))

.......where damage +x is damage granted from grief and
.......+x% ED is damage from auras, like fana or might (not items)

Grief isn't +min/+max damage, it's "Adds ___ damage" which is different. There are only three weapons in the game that have the "Adds ___ damage" mod (Grief, Redeemer, Astreon's) while a lot of stuff has +min/+max damage (charms, War Travs, etc.). You'll have to show me a source for those equations for smite damage as well.

You've half right, where you claim that "Damage + x" is damage granted from grief. You've very wrong, however, when you claim that enhanced damage from items like fortitude don't work on smiters. It's added into the damage granted by the smite skill, fanatacism, might from mercenary, etc, etc, ect, for a single %ED number, which is then applied to the raw damage from grief, holy sheild, and the sheild itself.

+min/max damage, no matter where it is, won't do a damn thing for smite. +damage from grief is NOT the same as +min/max. It's just plain +damage. There IS a difference.
