I do mid-level pubby PK with my amazon. I stopped her at level 55. I like this level because it means characters had a chance to build up a bit, but not quite to their ultra power "ITAM!" levels where less skill is required, less thought is required, and simply more clicking is required. I like a fight that takes more than one hit. Otherwise, what's the point of that.

Anyhow here's the round abouts of things I do:

1 - I expect to get killed. I play as if I'm going to die. I don't expect to own everyone. Therefore, I don't talk terrible crap in the chat screens and instead, I start by saying, "Heya gents."

2 - I select my targets. I simply cannot deal with the best equipped PVP characters. We know we can't. That's why Zons aren't the front and foremost PVP characaters--they're dead last. Every other class has a cookie cutter of some kind, that with the right super runewords, completely schools you in every way. Even with your Faith. So when I see a strength bugged mid-level who is one-hit-killing everyone. I may try it. Otherwise, I just find a game with other poeple who are looking to fight, and not just "click-win" with their super "ITAM!"

3 - I use the Terrain. Yea, I like to start by throwing out multi-shots. Mine is level one, but skills boost it to about 6. It's a fair number of arrows. When I cannot see their name, I spam one or two of these. If I see a mana leech animation, I found someone. Then I run away and I never just run backwards--always take the non-obvious route. A dysnched WW barb or Charger is actually behind you sometimes. Gotta love poor B.net coding. Anyhow, I use Terrain. After I spam a few multis, I reside amongst the trees and bushes. These are great for buying you one or two seconds. They may be all you need. When characters come running after you, name-locked with attack, they get tangled in the terrain and you get a few more shots off before death happens to you (and it will if you don't kill them).

4 - Speed > Damage. Seriously. Some focus on pure damage, and they're slow. At higher levels, this is possible, with things like Faith & Windforce, but again, at those levels, you still don't compete with the other super builds. So, at the lower levels, where you can compete, you could focus on higher damage, and do decently. But you could also focus on raw speed. Here's why you need speed: Most characters block in PVP; most of them have DR; and most of them are prepared for your guided arrows. Hitting them once in a blue moon with a guided, even with high damage, is useless if you're slow--you're dead after 3 shots or so. But if you can let out hordes of shots; you can get that block animation; you can hit a few times; and if you're packing knockback, you're going to have more chance to make them get knocked back, buying you a second or two. Every second counts. Speed gives you more chance to do something in the small amount of time that you have.

5 - Kill every single little monsters you see. I know this isn't really advise, but next time you're shooting at a non-name-lock target, and you kill a Carver, you'll know what I mean.

Cheers! :)

If he got killed by Telekinesis than he wasn't a good amazon dueler.

well erm, actually most zons, even those who play CS or bow hybrids.. when they switch to their bow gear they usually have no resists or such, i think. well unless it's a pure javazon, then of course it won't get killed by such a simple attack lol.

except for lifetap life/mana leech are pretty much non-existent in pvp, so if you see a player rapidly filling up in life and mana they are potting

You need to be standing still to cast telekinesis, if he wasn't able to kill you while you were doing this then I'm sorry but resist or not you weren't facing a good pvp zon.
